I have been singing since I was 5 years old. I had my first solo at an outdoor mall, my church group had a Christmas performance and I nervously sang Silent Night. I think I still have a recording somewhere. My love for music continued throughout elementary, junior high and high school, where I was a member of an amazing show choir. Music and the friends I made in choir was ALL that mattered at school. Music was my way of self expression, gaining confidence, and feeling powerful. My family always encouraged me to have music in my life because they knew how much it meant to me. My family was very musical, so I have to say it's in my blood.
During my early turbulent 20's I began practicing guitar, and writing songs. The partying, heartbreak, and finally finding of myself through yoga, massage school, natural health and some amazing friends were inspiration for some awesome songs. I was always afraid to share them though, because I thought people would think they were too "hippy dippy" or "earthy". When I went back to college on the central coast of California I was encouraged again by my family and friends to join the choir. I met more AMAZING people that I still have in my life and I also had the opportunity to travel to Europe singing jazz and classical music in several countries.
Fast forward a few years....I met my husband, had kids, and got busy! Music fell by the wayside and I could feel it's absence like a gaping hole in my heart. I was still surrounded by musicians and people following their dreams, but I didn't have an outlet. My husband was always in bands and I loved being his number one fan and was SO happy that he had his music. But still, I wanted that for myself as well. So one day I decided....I WANNA BE A SINGER IN A ROCK AND ROLL BAND! I put it out there, I asked my friends, and I found that people that were already important people in my life (and some new friends as well), also wanted to create music. WITH ME!! And so began the amazing journey of starting a band. We are still getting there....practicing, and now recording. We hope to be playing in venues all over the central coast within the year. I CAN'T WAIT to share our music with you. And yes, you will get to hear some of my hippy dippy lyrics from 20 years ago, as well as new originals and fun covers. Stay Tuned!!
